Children’s Ministry

Ages: Birth through 5th grade.

Goal: Spring Mountain Children’s Ministry is about relationships. Children grow in relationship with God, who loves them, and in relationship with each other through the love of God.

Purpose: Love God, love neighbors.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

The main time of teaching of our children is Sunday mornings. We use a curriculum to teach kids through the Bible.

We have detailed safety policies and background checks for all volunteers, including teachers.

Classes are divided into three major categories: Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary.

Nursery (newborn – two years)

Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers up to age two during service (drop-off begins at 9:50 am and pick-up is after Sunday morning services). Nursery volunteers care for, play with, and love the littles. Nursery safety procedures include the careful identification of parents and babies at the check-in desk. We ask you to leave a cell phone number so we can reach you if your child needs you. there is a curtained-off area with a rocking chair for nursing moms in the nursery, as well as a settee and changing table available. Please be sure to note any allergies on the check-in sheet.

Preschool (two-five years / pre-kindergarten)

Preschool Sunday School is during Sunday morning is during Sunday morning service (drop off begins at 9:50 am and pick-up is after Sunday morning service). Preschoolers will play together, learn from the Bible, do crafts, and sing together.

Elementary Age (Kindergarten – 5th Grade)

During the school year, elementary-aged children are released directly to teachers from Sunday morning service after we sing together and then are returned to parents around communion time. The children have Bible activities and lessons.
